China's a long way away.

Sheen goes on television and boasts that he has two girlfriends, who both sleep in the same bedroom. Is he too poor to set up his wives and mistresses in different houses?

His employers are unhappy that he was distracted with prostitutes and drugs, and didn't show up to work on time. Why not take a tip from the Chinese business community, and make visits to a KTV parlor part of Sheen's workday?

Sometimes I miss reading state-run newspapers and the editorials they run. I remember the first time I visited China, in about 1999 or 2000, and at that time you could still go into the poshest hotels and see big holes cut out of the foreign newspapers on display in the lobby.

I love this editorial because it so clearly showcases differences in Eastern and Western attitudes. Not everyone in China feels this way, or at least not this extremely, but there's definitely a huge difference in how people think these things should be handled. I had a friend in China who had a friend whose jobs were "girlfriend" and "part-time girlfriend." Bad behavior is an open secret there, but not talked about in the media.

So is it really better to keep things under wraps and pretend they're not happening? Is all the media attention on Charlie Sheen really corrupting America's youth? What do you think?

Also, I wonder if this is just bad phrasing, or if the writer really doesn't know that Martin Sheen only played the President on TV?

He ignored his own father's advice to keep quiet, who was once the president of the US. Sheen is a disgrace, unfilial to his father and his fatherland.
